Hello, I am Lisa Gustafsson, a former secondary school science teacher with over 11 years teaching experience, trained in Canada. I provide truly differentiated lessons, to build on the strengths of my students. In my role as a classroom teacher, I gained critical skills on adapting my lessons to meet the needs of all students, regardless of ability.  At my first school of employment, I developed a differentiated system of teaching that was integrated throughout the school, across all departments. Differentiation is more than just giving different worksheets to different students. It's about discovering the learning style that works best for each student and providing them the means to learn in this way. My goal is to empower my students to discover their strengths and build their confidence. I take the time to understand the best ways my students learn, providing them the opportunity to explore their learning style in my lessons. In doing this, not only do those students learn more easily, retaining the information they have learned, but they gain insight into their strengths which they can use in their future endeavours. Six years ago, I left the classroom to work with students on a more 1:1 basis as I recognised the limitations I was experiencing in meeting their learning needs in large classrooms.  Since 2018 I have been teaching and tutoring students online, either in small groups of up to 8, or individually. I have vast experience teaching years 7, 8 & 9 Science, years 10 & 11 AQA, OCR, Edexcel and Edexcel iGCSE Science (both Combined and Biology), as well as A-level AQA, OCR, Edexcel and Edexcel IAL Biology.  My science educational background is in Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathophysiology, as well as Cellular and Molecular Biology. My teaching degree is from Brock University in Canada, where I earned my Bachelor of Education in Science (Biology) and Geography. I also hold an Honours degree in Geography and Environmental Studies, graduating suma cum laude from McMaster University in Canada.
